To all applicants and prospective students | Important points to note regarding the enforcement of the "Child Sexual Violence Prevention Act" (commonly known as the "Act")

April 2026, 2

In June 2024, the Act on Measures to Prevent Sexual Violence Against Children by School Operators, etc. and Private Educational and Childcare Providers, etc. (Act No. 69 of 2024) (commonly known as the Child Sexual Violence Prevention Act) was enacted.
After this law comes into effect (scheduled for December 25, 2026), there is a possibility that prior to practical training (teaching practice, childcare practice, volunteer work, etc.) to obtain a teaching license or childcare worker qualification, a criminal record for a specific sexual offense (*1) based on the Child Sexual Violence Prevention Act may be verified.
Students whose criminal records are confirmed through this procedure will be deemed to be at risk of committing child sexual violence, etc., as a result of preventive measures stipulated by law, and will therefore be unable to carry out internships, etc., and will therefore be unable to obtain teaching licenses or childcare worker qualifications.
If you wish to obtain a teaching license or a childcare worker qualification at our university, please make sure you fully understand the above before considering applying and enrolling.
Please also be aware that during the enrollment process, you will be required to submit a consent form and pledge regarding this matter, and that before participating in internships at schools and other activities involving contact with children, you may be required to pledge that you do not have a criminal record for a specific sexual offense.
