Self-assessment and third-party assessment

On the announcement of the results of our university's accreditation evaluation by the Japan University Accreditation Association

It is stipulated that all national, public, and private universities must undergo a third-party evaluation (accreditation evaluation) by an evaluation organization (accreditation evaluation organization) certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology once every seven years.
Our university will undergo accreditation by the University Accreditation Association, an accreditation evaluation organization, in 2023, and in March 2024, the association will announce that "As a result of the 2023 university evaluation, KYOAI GAKUEN UNIVERSITY is recognized as meeting the association's university standards.
The certification period will be from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2031."
This is the fourth certification, following certifications in 2005, 2009, and 2016.

In accordance with the accreditation system and the spirit of information disclosure, this page contains the "KYOAI GAKUEN UNIVERSITY Self-Inspection and Evaluation Report" and "University Basic Data" that we submitted to the University Accreditation Association for review, as well as the "University Evaluation (Accreditation) Results for KYOAI GAKUEN UNIVERSITY" received from the Association, thereby publicizing the current state of our university to the public.

Kyoai Gakuen was founded in 1888 (Meiji 21), and for the 136 years since then, it has been engaged in educational and research activities in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, with Christianity as the pillar of its education and based on the idea of "mutual love = coexistence."
KYOAI GAKUEN UNIVERSITY was established in 1999 after the reorganization of its predecessor, Kyoai Gakuen Women's Junior College.
In order to achieve our goal of "cultivating human resources who have insight and insight into the state of the international community and who can deal with the various challenges that arise in local communities as a result of internationalization," we have been working on various university and educational reforms together with the local community.
Its achievements have also been recognized, and the university was selected for the "Global Human Resource Development Support for Leading Economic and Social Development (GGJ)" in 2012, the "Local Knowledge Hub Development Promotion Project (COC)" and the "University Education Renewal Acceleration Program (AP)" in 2014, and the "Local Knowledge Hub University Regional Revitalization Promotion Project (COC+)" in 2015, and has since been working on each project.
Furthermore, in 2021, we were selected as Initiative 1 in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Plan to Advance University and College Education Using Digital Technology," and in 2022 we launched hybrid seminars with other universities using online platforms, classrooms to enhance international exchange, and an individually optimized learning system using AI. This is proof that our university embodies "student-centered" learning, one of its action guidelines, and that our "Local Small University DX Model" has been recognized as an advanced initiative that is consistent with efforts in Japan.
The self-evaluation report this time reveals that these projects have further improved the quality of education at our university.
Our university's mission is to take care of students from the local community and give back to the community.
We have also worked together with the local community on various educational reforms.
We believe that this certification is a result of the support of the local community and everyone who supports our university, as well as the daily efforts of our students, alumni, faculty and staff.

We will continue to develop the many strengths of our university that were revealed in the university evaluation results, and we have already begun efforts to improve some of the issues that were pointed out.
Going forward, we will thoroughly establish an internal quality assurance system and, based on our founding principles, strive to further improve the quality of our education and research. We would appreciate your continued guidance and encouragement.
