Understanding the region
Students will learn about the multifaceted nature of local communities through on-site silk weaving experiences, consideration of the relationship between the community and art, attending local council meetings, and lectures by local business managers. By taking these classes, students will gain a deep understanding of the history, culture, and economy of the region, and will develop a perspective on working styles and problem-solving in the region.
Region and ArtThis program will explore the historical flow of Gunma Prefecture and consider how art connects people. In addition to viewing art at the Gunma Prefectural Museum of Modern Art and the Gunma Prefectural History Museum, students will also attempt to copy and imitate ancient works.#Prefectural Museum of Modern Art #Prefectural Museum of History
Regional revitalization exercise (silk fabric)This program will explore the unique characteristics of Kiryu, a town of textiles, and how to revitalize the region by utilizing these characteristics to create new, valuable products. The program will also include an opportunity to experience Kiryu weaving and dyeing at a workshop in the city.#Kiryu City
Regional revitalization exercise (symbiosis)This program focuses on the Islamic cultural society in Japan and will explore the current state of internationalization and mutual understanding in Japan and Gunma. Participants will also visit mosques in Tokyo and halal shops in the prefecture, and participate in cooking classes.#Isesaki City #Tokyo- Identifying local issuesParticipants will learn about the practical experience of uncovering local issues from local newspaper reporters, and through planning and implementing reporting activities on local issues, will develop the ability to identify issues and gain a deeper understanding of the local area.#All over the prefecture
- Citizenship ExerciseStudents will learn about their role as a citizen of the local community and consider how to live in the community from three perspectives: economics, politics, and society. - Glocal in the MediaWe will view and watch newspapers, magazines, news, and other media, and consider how "glocal" phenomena are portrayed. We also plan to hold lectures and discussions with media professionals.#On-campus
- Learn about the management skills of local business peopleWe will invite business owners from various industries in Gunma Prefecture as guests, and in addition to learning about their management skills, such as their unique perspectives, mindsets, and skills, we will also learn about their attitude as a local company, such as how they interact with the community.#On-campus
- Omnibus Course for Business PeopleParticipants will listen to lectures by managers of small and medium-sized businesses in Gunma Prefecture, think about work and life, and explore their future. Participants will also participate in multiple group work sessions to further deepen their insights.#On-campus

Dive into the area
Students learn through a variety of programs, including long-term internships at local governments and companies, which last approximately four months, three to four days a week, full-time agricultural experiences at "Kyoai Farm" (Mutual Love Farm) using university-owned fields, volunteer activities in the community, and hands-on nursing care experience. By gaining experience in the field, students gain an understanding of the challenges facing the local community and develop practical skills and the ability to act independently.
Long-term internshipFor about four months, students will work as trainees in government agencies or companies, acquiring business manners, skills, and mindset, as well as a business mindset that goes beyond mere work experience.#Prefectural companies
Regional Project Seminar (Kyoai Farm)By independently growing vegetables on the university farmland for a year, students will gain a new perspective on the joys and difficulties of growing vegetables, food safety, and agriculture, one of the prefecture's major industries.#University Farm
Regional project seminar (nature experience)We plan and implement nature experience learning programs for elementary school students. While helping to develop social skills and intellectual curiosity, the students themselves also acquire abilities such as initiative, collaboration, and crisis management.#Mount Akagi- Practical urban development exercisesUnder the theme of regional revitalization, participants will conduct interviews with city and government officials, identify issues, and compile solutions to understand the current state of local communities in Japan. - Volunteer trainingThis is a class where students receive credits for the voluntary volunteer work they actually do (more than 10 times a year). The training locations are diverse, including elderly care facilities, welfare facilities, educational institutions, and local governments.#All over the prefecture
- Caregiving experienceStudents will take courses in conjunction with related courses offered at our university, such as "Welfare and Education" and "Educational Counseling," and will deepen their knowledge and understanding by experiencing actual nursing care in classes, social welfare facilities, and special needs schools.#All over the prefecture
- Self-Design ChallengeYou will gain volunteer experience at three locations: a nursery school, an elementary school, and a children's facility. Thinking about the local area and spreading the word
"GLocal Seminar" is a required course where students from different courses form teams to identify local issues and develop solutions. In this course, students collaborate with government agencies and businesses to explore solutions to local problems. "Learning in Gunma" involves fieldwork at the Gunma Prefectural Government, Kiryu City, and Oizumi Town, while "Learning in Maebashi City" involves analyzing administrative documents and creating proposals. "Exploring Issues in Depopulated Areas" addresses the challenges of Nakanojo Town and considers the future of the region.
GLocal SeminarThis is a required subject for second-year students. Students from different majors form groups and, by bringing together their knowledge and opinions, identify and solve local issues, fostering collaborative skills.#All over the prefecture #Maebashi city
Study in GunmaBased on the Prefectural Comprehensive Plan, students will consider what they can do for Gunma in the areas of "society," "environment," and "community." Study in Maebashi CityStudents will analyze data from administrative documents, including the Maebashi City Comprehensive Plan, and, in conjunction with on-site learning, will analyze the current situation in the city and identify issues. - Regional revitalization seminar (exploring issues in depopulated areas)Through hands-on learning experiences, students will identify challenges in depopulated areas and propose policy solutions.
