In each field of study, required subjects vary depending on the faculty and course, but there are also subjects that students can choose based on their own interests.

01 Glocal subjects

This course combines global learning, which broadens international perspectives through overseas training, with local learning, which involves lectures and practical activities in collaboration with local governments, companies, and other members of the local community, allowing students to learn while connecting the world and the local area. Students learn both an international perspective and the current local situation, and develop practical skills through lectures and field experiences.

02 Foreign language subjects

Our university offers three foreign language programs: English, Chinese, and Multilingual (English + elective language). (The Faculty of Co-Innovation offers two programs: English and Multilingual (English + elective language)). The key point is that you can choose the learning method that best suits your interests and future goals. Whether you want to deepen your English or challenge yourself with a new language, we offer a flexible learning environment.

03 Kyoai Core Subjects

Based on the spirit of "love and live together," our university offers courses in three areas: "love and coexistence," "international and social understanding," and "regional understanding." By studying Christianity, multicultural society, economics, SDGs, local industry, and environmental policy from multiple perspectives, students will gain a deep understanding of society and develop the ability to connect to coexistence.

04 MIDA subjects (Mathematics, ICT, AI, Data Science)

The MIDA subjects (Mathematics, ICT, AI, Data Science) are a three-year curriculum designed to equip students with the ICT literacy and data analysis skills necessary for the AI/big data era. Students will hone their practical numeracy skills through compulsory courses in information literacy, data science, and numerical processing.

Responsible for improving course structure and lesson design

The University-Wide Education Promotion Center is a department that plays an important role in verifying the educational effectiveness of our university-wide common subjects and improving the structure and design of those subjects. Our university has developed a curriculum that enhances our university-wide common subjects to ensure that students acquire the foundations of the "12 Powers of Mutual Love" that they will acquire by graduation. The University-Wide Education Promotion Center is comprised of the Foreign Language Education Department, the Common Foundation Education Department, and the GLOCAL Education Department, and includes faculty members who are in charge of seminars such as assignments and graduation research, as well as specialized course subjects, as well as native English and Chinese instructors. In addition to supporting students' learning, these faculty members are deeply involved in instruction and curriculum development to achieve the university's educational goals.
