About the research
For a company to be established and grow, it is extremely important to decide what kind of products and services it will provide to society in what field. This choice is called determining its business domain (area of activity), and it is a factor that determines how a company will grow. We are researching what actions are necessary when changing the domain that a company has decided on. In other words, we are researching "ways to start doing work that is different from the work that has been done up until now."
I am also researching "what kind of new work can I do and how can I utilize the know-how I have gained from my previous work?" Through this research, I have also learned how to create know-how and how to repurpose the know-how I have.
In recent years, advances in ICT technology and other factors have frequently changed the market conditions in which companies have operated up until now. This is due to intensifying change and competition. As a result, it is not uncommon for small companies to suddenly grow large, while large companies suddenly lose their market position. In order to keep up with the changing times, or conversely, to create change, companies are constantly developing new products and services, creating what might be called "innovation" and striving to dominate the market. However, innovation is not easy to achieve. My research explores the reasons for this and examines the "activities for creating innovation" within companies, which can increase the likelihood of innovation occurring.
