Learning Support

Mutual support learning

Based on the philosophy of "mutual love = symbiosis," our university has created many systems that allow students to support each other and deepen their learning.

Lapita Desk

Lapita Desk
Writing a report is one of the most challenging aspects of university life. Unlike compositions, academic writing, which is also used for research, is not easy. To help students with their report writing, we have students called Writing Peer Tutors (or Lapita for short). Even if you're not confident in your report writing skills, you can bring a draft to the Lapita desk and learn about structure and writing techniques from senior students.

At our university, students are sometimes brought in to help support classes. In practical classes that require the use of computers, there can be differences in the learning progress of each student. Therefore, students who achieve excellent results in the class become TAs for the following year, and individually solve the worries and questions of each student.

Academic Peer Tutor

Academic Peer Tutor
Daily learning is important in language study, and our university provides various opportunities to use foreign languages outside of class. Academic Peer Tutors are students who support students' language studies. Seniors who have achieved excellent results in long-term study abroad programs and qualification exams provide strong support for their juniors' language studies.

International Dormitory RA (Resident Assistant)

International Dormitory RA (Resident Assistant)
Every year, exchange students from Asia and Europe come to study at our university. These students live in the international dormitory (south of Komagata Station) for about a year, and the students who live with them in the dormitory and are responsible for supporting their daily lives, providing academic advice, and promoting international exchange through tourism are called International Dormitory RAs. Every year, selected RAs welcome the exchange students and help ensure that their studies in a foreign land go smoothly.

Tutor for international students

Even for international students who pass the entrance exam and become students at our university, living and studying in a foreign country can be very difficult. International Student Tutors are students who provide one-on-one support to international students to help them with their worries and anxieties. They not only provide advice on their studies but also on everyday life, helping international students to make the most of their university life at our university.

Tutors supporting students with disabilities

Our university is promoting a universal campus environment, and we have students who provide individual support for students with disabilities in their university life and studies. After undergoing training, they take notes and support activities on campus, helping to create a campus where everyone can coexist.

ITサポート

Our university is implementing a ubiquitous campus, and IT devices are used in various aspects of learning, such as registering class attendance, submitting reports, and accumulating learning outcomes (KCG, a learning outcomes accumulation system). Therefore, support for each student, such as network connections and managing office software, is provided mainly by students studying information systems.
