Support for international students

Academic and lifestyle support

Tutor for international students

We have students called international student tutors to support international students in their studies and campus life. International students study in a variety of different environments, including language, lifestyles, study habits, and the university system. International student tutors support these studies. Furthermore, while supporting international students, they also practice intercultural exchange.

International Dormitory Executive Committee

We plan, manage, and hold exchange events between international students and Japanese students, and practice intercultural exchange.

International Student Affairs

We provide daily support to international students to help them live smoothly in Japan. We offer advice on studies and daily life, so please feel free to ask us for help.

Financial support for international students

International Student Affairs

KYOAI GAKUEN UNIVERSITY offers a system for reducing or exempting admission fees and tuition fees for students who enroll through the international student entrance examination. The details of the system and the amount of the exemption may change from year to year.

Changing your residence status after graduation

Procedures for changing residence status after graduation

If you are an international student and wish to continue living in Japan after graduation, you must change your residence status as soon as possible. Anyone who engages in activities outside of the scope of their residence status will be subject to punishment. Therefore, you will not be able to continue to stay in Japan with your remaining "student" visa.

If you are looking for work in Japan after graduation

The "Student" status of residence is only valid while you are enrolled in school. After graduation, the "Student" status of residence will expire, so please promptly apply to change to an appropriate status of residence. Please contact your employer for details on how to apply.
If there is a period of time between graduation and joining the company, please consult with your employer or the Immigration Bureau and take the necessary steps to leave the country or change your residence status to an appropriate one.

If you plan to continue job hunting after graduation

If you plan to continue job hunting after graduation, you will need to change your current residence status from "Student" to "Designated Activities." You can apply for a "Designated Activities" residence status by meeting certain conditions. (Auditing students and non-degree students are excluded.) Students who wish to change their status to "Designated Activities" should contact the Student Center.
